Family policies
What families ask before a first day, in our own words.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
Children stay home with a fever or an illness that spreads, and come back after a full day without a fever. If your child gets sick here, we call you right away and ask you to come as soon as you can.
Drop-off and pickup
Every child is handed to an adult on your pickup list, in person, at the door. We ask for ID from anyone we don't know, and we call you first if someone new is coming.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Lunch and two snacks are cooked and served here, family style at the big table. Babies eat on their own schedule. Tell us about any allergy at the tour; once you enroll, we ask again in private.
Naps and safe sleep
Babies sleep on their backs, in their own cribs, with nothing else in the crib. Toddlers and preschoolers rest on cots in the back room, and a child who doesn't sleep rests quietly with a book.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for the holidays and the training day on the calendar, and for one week in July. For weather, we text families the evening before when we can. If Lachelle is out, a backup adult from our list steps in as the second adult; if nobody can, we tell you before 6 a.m.
Leaving the program
We ask for four weeks' notice in writing when a child leaves. We're glad to talk first.
Questions about a policy?
Ask at the tour. We're happy to talk through any of it.
